Staff Field Applications Engineer
Role Summary
Serve as a senior field applications engineer supporting Lattice FPGA solutions for customers, focusing on design-in, deployment, and platform security for next-generation servers and data centers. Act as the technical liaison between customers, sales, and R&D throughout pre-sales evaluations and post-sales support.
Experience Level
Senior-level β requires 10+ years of FPGA development, technical support, or FAE experience.
Responsibilities
Primary customer-facing and technical responsibilities include:
- Provide design-in support and technical troubleshooting throughout the product lifecycle for Lattice FPGA solutions.
- Perform product evaluations, proofs-of-concept, and demonstrations.
- Assist customers with RTL design, synthesis, simulation, timing closure, and board-level integration.
- Guide customers through Lattice toolchains (Radiant, Diamond, Propel) and programming/debug tools.
- Deliver technical presentations, training, and workshops on security and other solutions.
- Support embedded system integration involving processors and standard interfaces (I2C, SPI, SGPIO, eSPI, LTPI).
- Capture customer requirements and provide feedback to product and R&D teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and conditions:
- 10+ years of FPGA design, technical support, or FAE experience.
- Hands-on experience with RTL coding (Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog), synthesis, simulation, and debugging.
- Strong experience with Lattice toolchains: Radiant, Diamond, Propel, and programming cable tools.
- Familiarity with standard interfaces: I2C, SPI, SGPIO, LTPI, eSPI.
- Lab skills with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and FPGA prototyping boards.
- Excellent problem-solving, presentation, and cross-functional communication skills.
- Willingness to travel for customer support, training, and technical meetings.
- Experience with security/root-of-trust solutions and server/data-center platforms.
- Must pass background and reference checks and have the legal right to work in Taiwan.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with embedded software integration.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
