Staff Field Application Engineer
Role Summary
Customer-facing Field Application Engineer focused on driving adoption of Tenstorrent's AI hardware and software across enterprise customers. You will work closely with sales, product, and engineering teams to deploy solutions, run technical workshops, and translate customer needs into product feedback.
Location: Remote within North America; preference for candidates near Santa Clara, CA; Austin, TX; or Toronto, ON.
Experience Level
Senior role. The posting requests 5+ years of relevant technical, enterprise experience; candidates will be evaluated during the interview process and offers will align to assessed level.
Responsibilities
Primary customer-facing and technical responsibilities include:
- Engage with enterprise customers to gather requirements, run technical workshops, and present technical solutions.
- Support pre-sales activities: demos, benchmarks, proofs-of-concept, and performance evaluations.
- Optimize ML/AI models and pipelines for custom silicon, including fine-tuning LLMs and optimizing vision models.
- Troubleshoot hardware/software integration issues across data center and edge deployments.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to provide customer-driven feedback and influence roadmap priorities.
- Create documentation, reference designs, and developer enablement materials to accelerate adoption.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 5+ years of customer-facing technical enterprise experience (e.g., Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Technical Account Manager).
- Proven expertise in AI/ML technologies and frameworks: machine learning, deep learning, NLP, computer vision, and PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Experience with embedded systems, FPGA architecture, or AI accelerators.
- Familiarity with data center and server architecture, deployment considerations, thermal/power, and infrastructure management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to run benchmarks, build PoCs, and diagnose performance and integration issues.
- Preferred: hands-on experience with custom silicon platforms and scaling AI workloads in production.
