Staff Engineer, VLSI Design Engineering
Role Summary
Lead digital design projects for NAND Flash memory in the Memory Technology Group. Responsible for microarchitecture, RTL design and verification, logic synthesis, timing closure, and productization to meet power, performance, and area targets.

Responsibilities
Deliver complete digital designs and support productization across the full chip lifecycle.
- Design and verify RTL (Verilog); perform RTL linting and CDC analysis.
- Integrate design blocks, run synthesis, DFT insertion, and participate in place-and-route flow.
- Perform timing analysis and timing closure; coordinate with physical design and sign-off flows.
- Participate in post-silicon evaluation and debug; drive cross-functional productization support.
- Balance modularity, scalability, power, area, and performance trade-offs in microarchitecture and implementation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical experience (degree and years detailed under Education Requirements).
- Hands-on experience with full logic design flow from RTL to GDSII: RTL coding, simulation, synthesis, static timing analysis, logic equivalence, DFT insertion, P&R, CTS, extraction, and physical verification.
- Experience with chip-level integration and driving design through full product lifecycle (requirements, implementation, test).
- Knowledge of NAND flash memory cell operations and read/program/erase algorithms.
- Experience in post-silicon debug and cross-team coordination.
- Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork skills.
Education Requirements
M.S. in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) plus 5 years of relevant experience.
