Job Title

Staff Engineer, Test Engineering

Role Summary

Design and deliver multi-site hardware and software test solutions for high-performance analog/mixed-signal integrated circuits. Lead test methodology, program development, and transfer of production test solutions while collaborating with design, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams.

Based in Wilmington, MA with partial telecommute (up to 2 days/week).

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires at least three years of relevant engineering experience and demonstrated staff-level ownership of test solutions and project schedules.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design, develop, and debug multi-site ATE hardware and software for wafer probe, characterization, qualification, and final test.
  • Define test methodologies, test plans, test modes, SCAN, and IDDq tests with design engineers.
  • Create test schematics and PCB layouts and coordinate with layout engineers for multi-site test hardware.
  • Develop and debug test programs; correlate production test results with engineering bench measurements.
  • Transfer production test solutions to offshore high-volume manufacturing and support production to maintain yield and quality.
  • Participate in new product development teams and evaluate new test systems for future applications.
  • Manage project schedules to align with product introduction and release dates.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and domain expertise:

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience analyzing and debugging analog and digital circuits in a related role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in test time reduction and optimization for Automated Test Equipment (ATE) production test solutions.
  • Experience developing ATE test programs using languages such as C, C++, C#, Visual Basic, and LabVIEW.
  • Experience creating schematics and PCB layouts using tools such as OrCAD and Cadence Allegro.
  • Experience developing test and wafer-probe hardware/software on commercial ATE systems (Teradyne MicroFlex/UltraFlex, Advantest 93K, NI STS).
  • Experience preparing ATE product test plans, evaluation reports, and performing statistical analysis on large semiconductor datasets.
  • Proven ability to support product release to production and collaborate with Quality, Reliability, Applications, Product Engineering, Assembly, Failure Analysis, and Operations.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or foreign education equivalent; plus three (3) years of experience in the proffered job or a related occupation. (Employer explicitly requires the degree or equivalent.)
