Job Title
Staff Engineer, Test
Role Summary
Principal technical authority in the test development organization responsible for defining long-term ATE roadmaps, architecting scalable hardware/software testing platforms, and leading cross-functional execution from product definition through global production release.
The role focuses on test strategy, qualification and characterization of high-performance power and mixed-signal products, scaling global test capability, and mentoring engineering teams.
Experience Level
Senior / Staff level. Guidance: expects senior-level experience β typically 10+ years of semiconductor test or equivalent experience (Master's/PhD candidates with advanced experience are considered).
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include technical leadership across test strategy, platforms, quality, and production support.
- Define and execute technical strategy for next-generation ATE test solutions and NPI initiatives.
- Design and govern standardized software frameworks and hardware architectures to scale test capability globally.
- Lead design-for-test guidelines, hardware/software architectural reviews, and organizational quality planning.
- Own product qualification, characterization, and cross-platform correlation for power delivery and multi-die products.
- Coordinate with Product Engineering, Design, and Operations to enable smooth production ramps and manufacturing releases.
- Provide technical oversight for yield optimization, cost reduction, and high-priority customer return resolution.
- Mentor staff, senior, and junior engineers; establish technical governance and best practices.
- Manage vendor, foundry, and OSAT technical relationships to align delivery with roadmap milestones.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and domain experience (degrees are listed under Education Requirements).
- Proven experience architecting and developing automated test solutions on high-end ATE platforms (e.g., Advantest V93K, COHU Diamondx, SPEA DOT800, ETS364).
- Hands-on ATE test development for analog, digital, high-power, and mixed-signal ICs; experience with power modules and multi-die correlation.
- Expert programming and automation skills, including C++ and Python; experience building production-grade test APIs and reusable automation libraries.
- Lab characterization and debug experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, source measure units, and other advanced instruments.
- High-performance ATE loadboard/probe card PCB layout and hardware design experience focusing on parasitics, signal integrity, and high-current delivery.
- Strong communication and cross-functional influence to drive roadmaps and vendor collaborations.
- Willingness to travel approximately 0β10% to support manufacturing and vendor sites.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is specified. Master's or Ph.D. candidates are acceptable with more advanced experience. The posting indicates degree-based requirements alongside specified years of progressive semiconductor experience (degree or equivalent experience considered).
