Staff Engineer – SoC Design Verification
Role Summary
The Staff Engineer will lead verification strategy and architecture for complex SoC and mixed-signal designs. This role provides technical leadership, mentors junior engineers, and coordinates cross-functional verification activities to ensure product quality and timely sign-off.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 7–10+ years of relevant digital design verification experience with emphasis on mixed-signal and SoC verification.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include leading verification efforts, driving coverage closure, and supporting post-silicon validation.
- Architect and lead verification strategies and UVM-based environments for complex digital and mixed-signal designs.
- Design and implement verification environments that deliver comprehensive, coverage-driven verification.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers; drive methodology adoption and best practices across teams.
- Coordinate verification requirements and sign-off criteria with design and cross-functional teams.
- Lead complex debugging across RTL and gate-level simulations and resolve verification issues.
- Drive functional and code coverage closure using advanced verification methodologies.
- Lead post-silicon validation and provide expert support to resolve critical issues.
- Serve as technical representative to customers and external partners when required.
- Travel as required for customer or project needs (approximately 10%).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for the role.
- Expert knowledge of SystemVerilog and Universal Verification Methodology (UVM).
- Proven ability to develop test plans and coverage-driven verification strategies.
- Deep experience with mixed-signal verification methodologies and SoC verification use-cases.
- Advanced debugging skills across multiple design abstractions (RTL, gate-level).
- Extensive experience with EDA tools (Cadence, Synopsys) and formal verification techniques.
- Advanced scripting and automation skills (Python, Perl, TCL, Shell).
- Demonstrated technical leadership and ability to influence verification direction.
- Experience collaborating with teams across diverse domains to achieve verification quality.
Education Requirements
