Role Summary
Responsible for verifying and validating high-speed SerDes IP and subsystems to ensure functional, timing, and protocol compliance for production silicon. The role focuses on building UVM/SystemVerilog testbenches, running simulations, debugging timing and protocol issues, and evaluating signal integrity metrics.
Experience Level
Senior-level (Staff). Years of experience not specified in the posting.
Responsibilities
Primary verification and validation tasks for SerDes interfaces and related subsystems.
- Develop and execute verification plans, directed and random tests for SerDes IP and subsystems.
- Design and implement verification testbenches using UVM/SystemVerilog and other industry-standard methodologies.
- Write formal properties and drive formal verification where applicable.
- Run simulations, analyze results, and debug timing, protocol, and performance issues.
- Evaluate signal integrity, jitter, BER, eye diagrams, and other performance metrics.
- Create and maintain automated regression suites and test infrastructure.
- Collaborate with RTL, hardware, firmware, and software teams to isolate and resolve defects.
- Produce documentation and verification reports; review and act on coverage metrics.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical experience for the role; preferred items listed separately.
- Practical experience in SerDes or high-speed communication verification.
- Hands-on experience with UVM and SystemVerilog based verification flows.
- Strong simulation and debugging skills across timing, protocol, and performance domains.
- Experience analyzing signal integrity issues, jitter, BER, and eye diagrams.
- Familiarity with hardware description languages such as Verilog or VHDL.
- Scripting experience for automation (Python, Perl, or similar).
- Experience with DDR protocol verification (e.g., DDR3/DDR4/DDR5) for memory interfaces.
