Job Title

Staff Engineer, Process Development (Wet) — NAND

Role Summary

Lead development and optimization of wet unit processes to enable advanced NAND technology nodes, improve process margins, and resolve yield and quality issues. Work within a wet process module and collaborate with Process Integration, manufacturing, TD peers, and suppliers to deliver manufacturable solutions.

Contribute technical experiments, data-driven analysis, and documentation to support technology deployment and continuous improvement.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Typical experience guidance: PhD, or Master’s with ≥3 years relevant experience, or Bachelor’s with ≥5 years relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include process development, integration, experimentation, and documentation to drive yield and manufacturability for NAND technologies.

  • Develop and optimize wet unit processes to meet yield and quality targets for advanced NAND parts.
  • Design, execute, and analyze experiments (DOE/SPC) to widen process margins and validate manufacturability.
  • Quantify benefits of new process and equipment solutions and enable early adoption.
  • Integrate and troubleshoot processes in cross-functional teams with Process Integration and other process areas.
  • Engage suppliers and evaluate hardware or novel process approaches; support IP generation where applicable.
  • Implement process monitoring and control methodologies; maintain experiment records and technical reports.
  • Incorporate AI-assisted tools and insights to improve efficiency, analysis rigor, and continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

Key technical and interpersonal requirements.

  • Strong foundation in chemistry, chemical kinetics, thermodynamics, and mass transport.
  • Experience using DOE/SPC and data analysis systems (e.g., Y3) to analyze experimental outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of memory process flow for planar and vertical NAND.
  • Proven problem-solving skills, structured cross-functional troubleshooting, and ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment.
  • Concise communication skills and ability to document experiments and technical results clearly.
  • Ability to follow IP protection and governance practices.

Education Requirements

PhD, or Master’s with ≥3 years, or Bachelor’s with ≥5 years of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
