Staff Engineer - Post-Silicon Validation
Role Summary
Lead post-silicon validation and bring-up activities for ASIC/SoC products in a cross-functional team based in Hyderabad. Drive debug, test development, and automation to verify silicon against specifications and enable product releases.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Typical background: senior validation engineer or staff engineer with substantial post-silicon/bring-up experience; typically 7+ years of related industry experience preferred.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Plan and execute post-silicon bring-up and validation campaigns for SoC/ASIC designs.
- Debug silicon issues using lab equipment, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and trace tools; isolate root causes and drive fixes.
- Develop and maintain validation testbenches, test cases, and hardware test setups.
- Automate test execution, data collection, and result analysis using scripting (Python, TCL, or similar).
- Collaborate with RTL, firmware, silicon, and system teams to reproduce and resolve functional and performance issues.
- Document test plans, results, and issue reports; present findings to stakeholders.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Proven experience in post-silicon validation, silicon bring-up, or hardware validation for SoC/ASIC products.
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment and board-level bring-up/debug techniques.
- Strong scripting skills for test automation and data analysis (Python preferred).
- Experience with Linux-based test environments and test framework development.
- Ability to collaborate across hardware, firmware, and software teams and to communicate technical issues clearly.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with JTAG, trace tools, embedded firmware, or system-level performance validation.
- Experience developing automated regression frameworks and CI integrations.
