Job Title
Staff Engineer, Photo DRAM
Role Summary
Senior process engineer responsible for EUV lithography process development, optimization, and sustainment for advanced DRAM technology nodes in a manufacturing environment. The role partners with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to deliver stable, high-yield EUV patterning performance.
Works independently as a technical contributor, driving end-to-end process solutions, root-cause analyses, and data-driven process improvements that enable manufacturability and yield targets.
Experience Level
Senior β Staff-level technical contributor. Prior experience in semiconductor lithography/process development is expected.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include developing and stabilizing EUV lithography processes and collaborating across engineering and supplier teams to address yield and patterning challenges.
- Lead EUV lithography process development and sustainment for advanced nodes in a manufacturing setting.
- Innovate design, layout, and photolithography approaches; review literature and identify IP opportunities.
- Perform root-cause analysis and resolve CDU, overlay, stochastic, and defectivity issues impacting yield and performance.
- Develop and optimize process windows, scanner jobs, and metrology strategies to meet manufacturability targets.
- Partner with equipment, metrology, materials, etch, and integration teams to deliver robust processes.
- Evaluate and qualify technologies from external partners and suppliers (scanner, mask, resist, ecosystem vendors).
- Analyze large datasets using data-driven methods and translate results into actionable process improvements.
- Document and communicate technical results clearly to engineering peers, leadership, and stakeholders.
Requirements
Core technical skills and professional attributes required or desirable for success in the role.
-
Must-have: Demonstrated ability to independently solve complex process problems using structured, data-driven approaches.
-
Must-have: Strong verbal and written communication and project management skills; ability to work effectively across disciplines and organizations.
-
Must-have: Practical experience in semiconductor lithography/process engineering (experience level implied by senior role).
-
Nice-to-have: Deep EUV-specific expertise, including CDU/overlay modeling, stochastic optimization, or defect mitigation strategies.
-
Nice-to-have: Familiarity with data analysis and ML tools (Python, JMP, Excel, statistical workflows).
-
Nice-to-have: Experience collaborating with external research institutes or equipment/material suppliers; resilience and adaptability in dynamic environments.
Education Requirements
BS in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering or related field with 5+ years in semiconductor lithography process engineering, OR MS/PhD in the same fields with 3+ years in semiconductor lithography process engineering.
