Staff Engineer, Partner Lab Support
Role Summary
On-site engineering role supporting customer system evaluation, silicon bring-up, and early platform integration for Micron LPDDR products. The role works directly with customer system and silicon teams to accelerate qualification, resolve system-level issues, and enable product deployment.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on hands-on customer support and system-level validation for LPDDR products.
- Provide on-site, hands-on technical support for joint system evaluation, silicon bring-up, and platform integration.
- Perform lab debug and rapid issue resolution through face-to-face work with customer engineers.
- Identify and mitigate system-level risks related to signal integrity, power, timing margins, performance, and reliability.
- Act as the primary technical interface between Micron and customer teams for LPDDR topics.
- Translate customer observations and requirements into actionable engineering inputs for Micron internal teams.
- Prepare concise technical summaries, debug reports, and customer-facing documentation to support decisions and alignment.
Requirements
Must-have technical experience and skills; preferred items listed separately.
Must-have:
- 10+ years of experience in DRAM or memory product engineering, design, or system-level support roles.
- Deep technical understanding of DRAM architecture, LPDDR products, and memory subsystem behavior.
- Proven experience providing direct customer support, including on-site or resident engineering roles.
- Hands-on system-level debug and failure analysis with strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for direct engagement with customer engineers.
- Ability to work independently and drive complex, cross-functional issues to closure.
Nice-to-have:
- Prior on-site customer assignment experience in San Jose or similar customer locations.
- Experience supporting leading mobile, SoC, or system customers.
- Experience bridging design, product engineering, system, and quality perspectives.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, mentoring, or guidance of other engineers.
- Experience working with global, cross-regional engineering teams.
- Japanese language skills for technical communication with Micron Japan.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is specified.
