The role ensures lab infrastructure, setups, inventory, vendor relationships, and logistics support Marvell's customer-facing engineering engagements and product validation.
Works across hardware, software, facilities, security, and global Marvell sites to maintain a reliable, well-documented lab environment for debugging, demos, RMAs, and tradeshows.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 7+ years of hands-on hardware lab and validation engineering experience.
Responsibilities
You will operate and improve the Santa Clara CSG hardware lab and its services for engineers and customers.
- Own daily lab operations: equipment, setups, safety, cleanliness, and operational health across all supported platforms.
- Maintain test setups end-to-end: assembly, calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, documentation, and lifecycle planning.
- Manage equipment inventory and spares: tagging, asset tracking, utilization monitoring, and end-of-life planning.
- Lead lab renovation and expansion projects: scope, planning, vendor coordination, and execution.
- Manage vendor relationships for test equipment, services, and RMAs; source, evaluate, and recommend purchases.
- Execute and track the annual lab equipment and operating budget; manage purchase orders and reporting.
- Enable and maintain reliable remote access to lab setups for global teams; monitor connectivity and setup state.
- Plan and coordinate logistics for customer demos and industry tradeshows: equipment selection, shipping, on-site setup, teardown, and return.
- Coordinate with facilities and security on power, cooling, cabling, access controls, and visitor protocols.
Requirements
Must-have technical and operational skills for running a multi-platform semiconductor lab.
- 7+ years of hands-on hardware lab and validation engineering experience involving equipment lifecycle, setups, calibration, maintenance, inventory, and safety.
- Working familiarity operating and troubleshooting high-speed test and measurement instruments (oscilloscopes, BERTs, VNAs, TDR, jitter analyzers, logic analyzers, power supplies, electronic loads, compliance kits).
- General understanding of high-speed networking and SerDes test concepts (eye diagrams, BER, jitter, return loss, PDN behavior, thermal validation) sufficient to set up and maintain test environments.
- Proven vendor management experience: sourcing, quoting, negotiating, and managing service and RMA cycles.
- Experience managing operational budgets, purchase orders, and spend reporting.
- Strong organizational skills to maintain disciplined lab order under continuous project pressure.
- Experience supporting customer demos, tradeshows, and executive engagements; logistics and equipment coordination.
- Experience working with facilities and security on lab infrastructure, build-outs, and access controls.

Nice-to-have:
- Experience supporting Ethernet switching, AI fabric, or high-speed networking platform test labs.
- Familiarity with remote lab access infrastructure (KVM-over-IP, automation frameworks, lab reservation systems).
- Experience with RMA/failure-analysis test setups and readiness for field-return units.
- Experience in lab renovation, expansion, or new-site build-outs; knowledge of lab safety standards and ESD controls.
- Experience supporting demos at major industry tradeshows (OFC, SC, Hot Chips, OCP, or similar).
