Job Title
Staff Engineer, GPU/HPC - Semiconductor Manufacturing Simulation
Role Summary
Develop production-grade, GPU-accelerated TCAD simulation engines used for semiconductor manufacturing R&D. Translate computational physics models into high-performance software that runs across distributed GPU clusters.
Work on a Zurich-based TCAD team at the intersection of applied physics, numerical methods, and high-performance computing to improve simulation throughput and fidelity for foundries and research labs.
Experience Level
Senior β role expects an experienced engineer. The posting specifies PhD plus 4+ years of industry experience.
Responsibilities
Primary technical responsibilities and deliverables:
- Design and implement GPU-optimized algorithms and data structures for nanoscale process simulation.
- Profile, benchmark, and tune compute kernels across memory hierarchies to maximize throughput and scalability.
- Deliver production-quality, robust code suitable for deployment across distributed GPU clusters.
- Define and drive multi-year technical roadmaps and architecture for large-scale simulation systems.
- Collaborate with TCAD domain experts to ensure numerical fidelity and correct physical modeling.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to adoption of GPU-accelerated workflows within the team and customers.
