Staff Engineer, Embedded Software
Role Summary
Design, implement, and maintain embedded software for Analog Devices' hardware platforms at the Gen. Trias, Cavite site. Collaborate with hardware engineers and cross-functional teams to integrate firmware, RTOS components, and bare-metal code that meet performance, memory, and power requirements.
Work focuses on real-time and embedded Linux/Zephyr environments, debugging and optimization, and producing production-ready firmware and documentation.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable embedded software for multiple hardware platforms.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to define software requirements and ensure seamless hardware–software integration.
- Develop software for RTOS (e.g., Zephyr) and bare-metal environments, and work with embedded Linux when applicable.
- Create and maintain code documentation and software user guides.
- Test, debug, and validate firmware to ensure high performance, reliability, and correct hardware operation.
- Optimize code for performance, memory usage, and power consumption.
- Adopt and share software development and debugging best practices with the team.
- Support occasional travel (~10%) as required for the role.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and attributes:
- High proficiency in embedded software development and strong C/C++ skills.
- Experience developing software for microcontrollers and microprocessors.
- Experience with Zephyr and Linux operating systems in embedded contexts.
- Familiarity with hardware communication protocols: SPI, I2C, UART, etc.
- Experience using Git for version control.
- Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and effective communication and collaboration skills.
Nice-to-have:
- FPGA development and firmware programming experience.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum workflows and CI/CD practices.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks and automated testing tools.
- An active portfolio or public repositories demonstrating past projects or contributions to large open-source projects.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is expected; a Master's degree is considered an advantage. (No mention of accepted equivalent-experience language.)
