Staff Engineer, Design Verification Engineering
Analog DevicesJob Title
Staff Engineer, Design Verification Engineering
Role Summary
Lead architect and designer for digital blocks in SoC/ASIC projects within the verification engineering team. Drive design-for-verification activities, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure designs are realized in silicon (ASIC tapeouts).
Provide technical leadership on micro-architecture tradeoffs and mentor junior engineers.
Experience Level
Senior - requires 8+ years of relevant experience in digital logic and SoC/ASIC design and verification.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Architect and design key digital blocks for SoC/ASIC implementations.
- Perform micro-architecture tradeoff analysis (power, performance, area).
- Define and drive verification strategy and flows.
- Coordinate with product, backend, and silicon teams to deliver tapeouts.
- Use and integrate lint, CDC, formal equivalence, and ECO flows; develop supporting scripts/tools.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Participate in post-silicon bring-up and issue debug when required.
- Travel up to 10% as needed.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 8+ years hands-on digital logic design and technical leadership experience.
- Proven experience with ASIC tapeouts (production silicon); FPGA-only experience is insufficient.
- Experience developing micro-architectures with PPA (power, performance, area) tradeoffs.
- Experience with linting, CDC analysis, formal equivalence, ECO flows, and scripting.
- Strong understanding of processor and SoC architecture.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills for geographically distributed teams.
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical discussions.
- Post-silicon debug experience and DSP fundamentals are advantageous.
Education Requirements
Minimum BTech/BE (Bachelor's) in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Science (or equivalent bachelor's degree).
