Staff Engineer, CAD

Role Summary

The Staff Engineer will develop and maintain CAD simulation flows for analog and digital memory circuits, collaborate with memory design teams and EDA vendors, and lead automation and AI-enabled workflows to reduce pre-silicon failures and improve productivity.

This role sits within a platform CAD engineering team focused on simulation, verification, and flow automation for advanced memory products.

Experience Level

Senior — requires approximately 8+ years of relevant experience in analog circuit simulation flows.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with memory design teams to resolve simulation and verification challenges and deliver production-ready solutions.
• Design, implement, and maintain highly scalable CAD simulation and verification flows for analog and digital circuits.
• Develop and integrate AI-assisted, agentic, and automated workflows (copilot-based assistants, rule-aware automation) for circuit simulation and verification.
• Evaluate, integrate, and work with EDA vendors and tools to improve CAD flows.
• Develop clean, maintainable software systems to support simulation flows and tool integration.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

Must-have:

• 8+ years of progressive experience with analog circuit simulation flows and simulation debugging.
• Hands-on experience with circuit simulators (examples: Finesim, Primesim, XA, Spectre, VCS, Xcelium).
• Hands-on experience with Cadence Virtuoso (including Virtuoso-L/XL) or Synopsys custom compiler or equivalent platforms.
• Experience developing and deploying AI-enabled methodologies for circuit simulation flows.
• Proficient in Python and/or Perl with object-oriented programming practices.
• Strong understanding of CMOS concepts and electronic fundamentals.
• Experience with Linux environments, LSF, shell scripting, TCL scripting, and SKILL (Cadence) language.
• Ability to work effectively with global teams and stakeholders; strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with parasitic extraction tools (StarRC, Quantus).
• Experience in EM/IR analysis and Static Timing Analysis (STA).
• Experience with AI/ML techniques applied to EDA/CAD tasks.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or a related field as listed by the employer.
