Job Title
Staff Engineer
Role Summary
Work on ASIC design using Broadcom CMOS cell-based ASIC technologies across the full chip development lifecycle. Collaborate with internal and external customers to implement designs targeting advanced nodes (5nm/3nm).
Responsible for implementation activities from RTL analysis through synthesis, timing closure, physical design, verification, and post-prototype support.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Years of experience not specified.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical implementation, design closure, and cross-team coordination for advanced-node ASIC projects.
- Perform RTL analysis, synthesis, and full-chip static timing analysis (STA).
- Drive design optimization and constraint cleanup for tapeout at advanced nodes.
- Participate in physical design tasks: floorplanning, placement, and design closure.
- Support timing verification, simulation, test insertion, and vector generation.
- Provide post-prototype test support and resolve silicon issues.
- Work independently on block implementation and top-level integration tasks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external customers to meet tapeout schedules.
Requirements
Key must-have skills and the primary preferences for candidates.
- Solid VLSI background and strong understanding of the ASIC design flow.
- Proven ability to independently handle block implementation and top-level tasks.
- Tapeout experience at 5nm process nodes (experience with advanced-node tapeouts).
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with full-chip synthesis flows and STA is expected.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with DFT insertion, power/IVD analysis, DRC/LVS.
- Experience with top-level floorplan/STA and low-power techniques.
- Scripting skills (Perl, Tcl, Python) to automate flows.
Education Requirements
Preferred: MS in Microelectronics or a related discipline. (Degree preference listed as MS; no explicit minimum degree or equivalent-experience statement provided.)
