Role Summary

Provide day-to-day support for CAD tools, flows and collateral used by DRAM design teams. Enable transistor-level mixed-signal and custom IC design, verification, and tape-out workflows, and collaborate with global CAD, design, layout, and verification teams.

Drive R&D efforts at the intersection of IC design automation and machine learning to scope and deliver ML-based solutions that improve EDA capabilities and design productivity.

Responsibilities

Work with DRAM design teams and CAD groups to maintain and improve EDA tools, flows, and methodologies.

• Support CAD tools, flows and collateral for DRAM design teams worldwide.
• Enable transistor-level mixed-signal and custom IC design: logical design, custom layout, and parameterized cells.
• Support automated place-and-route and physical design verification (DRC, LVS, ERC).
• Manage layout parasitic extraction and pre/post-layout netlisting and simulation.
• Perform digital and analog circuit simulation, timing and power analysis, and reliability simulation (HCI, BTI, EM/IR).
• Coordinate tape-out and mask generation activities.
• Collaborate with EDA vendors and internal methodology teams to co-develop or improve capabilities and deploy best practices.
• Lead R&D initiatives that apply machine learning to IC design automation problems.
• Develop and support CAD-related software and scripting used by design teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for this role.

• Proven VLSI design experience and familiarity with CMOS circuits.
• Proficiency with IC design and EDA tools (place & route, LVS/DRC, extraction, simulation tools).
• Design verification experience including DRC, LVS and parasitic extraction workflows.
• Software programming and development skills; experience developing and supporting CAD software.
• Scripting proficiency in Python, TCL, and SKILL.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience applying machine learning to EDA or IC design automation problems.

Education Requirements

Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
