Job Title

Staff Digital Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Lead verification engineer responsible for end-to-end functional verification of complex digital and mixed-signal designs for optical control ICs targeting AI datacenter and cloud infrastructure.

Collaborate with digital, analog/mixed-signal, firmware, and system teams to build UVM-based verification environments, drive coverage closure, debug integration issues, and support post-silicon validation.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically 3+ years of hands-on digital verification experience for complex SoC designs.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include owning verification from block to system level, creating verification plans, implementing UVM environments, and supporting silicon bring-up.

  • Own block-, chip-, and system-level verification and verification closure.
  • Develop verification plans: test strategy, functional coverage, assertions, and closure criteria.
  • Design and build UVM-based testbenches, sequences, scoreboards, and infrastructure from the ground up.
  • Drive functional and code coverage analysis and achieve coverage-driven verification closure.
  • Perform in-depth debug and root-cause analysis of functional and integration issues.
  • Work with digital architects and RTL designers to enable effective verification early in the design cycle.
  • Collaborate with analog/mixed-signal teams on co-simulation and mixed-signal verification strategies.
  • Partner with firmware/software teams for system- and application-level verification.
  • Support post-silicon validation and silicon bring-up activities with evaluation and applications teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.

  • Must-have: 3+ years of hands-on digital verification experience for complex SoC designs; strong SystemVerilog and UVM expertise (testbench architecture, sequences, scoreboards, assertions, coverage).
  • Must-have: Experience with functional and code coverage analysis and coverage-driven verification.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with AMBA protocols (AXI, AHB, APB) and verification of processor-based SoCs.
  • Must-have: Proficiency in SystemVerilog, C/C++, and scripting (Python, Perl, Tcl, or shell).
  • Must-have: Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently.
  • Must-have: Good spoken and written English communication skills; willingness to travel ~10%.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with mixed-signal verification, analog modeling, or co-simulation.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with post-silicon validation and silicon bring-up collaboration.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity or experience with AI-assisted tools to improve design productivity.

Education Requirements

B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
