Staff Digital Verification Engineer
Analog DevicesJob Title
Staff Digital Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for end-to-end verification of digital and mixed-signal Optical Control IC designs used in AI datacenter and cloud infrastructure. The role owns verification from block level through full-chip and system-level, applying modern verification methodologies and collaborating closely with digital, analog/mixed-signal, firmware, and system teams to maximize first-pass silicon success.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Typically requires 3+ years of hands-on experience in digital verification for complex SoC designs.
Responsibilities
Lead verification planning, environment development, debug, and closure across block, chip, and system levels; collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable integration and post-silicon validation.
- Own block-, chip-, and system-level verification efforts and deliverables.
- Develop comprehensive verification plans: test strategy, functional coverage, assertions, and closure criteria.
- Build and maintain UVM-based verification environments and testbenches from the ground up.
- Drive functional and code coverage analysis and closure to ensure verification completeness.
- Perform in-depth debug and root-cause analysis of functional and integration issues.
- Collaborate with digital design during architecture and RTL development to enable effective verification.
- Coordinate with analog/mixed-signal teams on co-simulation and mixed-signal verification strategies.
- Partner with firmware/software teams for system-level and application-level verification.
- Support post-silicon validation and bring-up with product evaluation and applications engineering teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, verification experience, and soft skills.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in digital verification for complex SoC designs.
- Strong expertise in SystemVerilog and UVM, including testbench architecture, sequences, scoreboards, assertions, and coverage-driven verification.
- Experience with functional coverage and code coverage analysis and closure.
- Familiarity with AMBA protocols (AXI, AHB, APB) and verification of processor-based SoCs.
- Proficiency in SystemVerilog and C/C++, and scripting with Python, Perl, Tcl, or shell.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills; ability to perform root-cause analysis.
- Experience or interest in mixed-signal verification, analog modeling, or co-simulation is a plus.
- Experience with AI-assisted tools to improve design productivity is a plus.
- Experience with post-silicon validation or close interaction with silicon bring-up teams is a plus.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and drive tasks with minimal supervision.
- Good spoken and written English communication skills.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
Education Requirements
B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
