Job Title
Staff Digital Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Lead verification engineer responsible for end-to-end functional verification of complex digital and mixed-signal Optical Control ICs used in AI datacenter and cloud infrastructure.
Work across digital design, analog/mixed-signal, firmware, and system teams to develop verification plans, build UVM testbenches, drive coverage closure, and support post-silicon validation.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 3+ years of hands-on digital verification experience for complex SoC designs; staff-level expectations.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning, building, and executing verification at block, chip, and system levels.
- Own verification for blocks through full-chip and system integration.
- Develop verification plans: test strategy, functional coverage, assertions, and closure criteria.
- Design and maintain UVM-based verification environments, including sequences, scoreboards, and stimulus.
- Drive functional and code coverage analysis and closure activities.
- Perform debug and root-cause analysis of complex functional and integration issues.
- Collaborate with digital architects and RTL designers to enable effective verification.
- Coordinate mixed-signal co-simulation with analog teams and partner with firmware/software for system-level verification.
- Support post-silicon validation and silicon bring-up with evaluation and applications teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience followed by concise nice-to-have items.
-
Must-have: 3+ years of hands-on digital verification experience for complex SoC designs.
-
Must-have: Strong expertise in SystemVerilog and UVM (testbench architecture, sequences, scoreboards, assertions, coverage).
-
Must-have: Experience with functional coverage and code-coverage-driven verification and closure.
-
Must-have: Familiarity with AMBA protocols (AXI, AHB, APB) and processor-based SoC verification.
-
Must-have: Proficiency in SystemVerilog, C/C++, and scripting (Python, Perl, Tcl, or shell).
-
Must-have: Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills; clear spoken and written English.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience in mixed-signal verification, analog modeling, or co-simulation.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with post-silicon validation or silicon bring-up.
-
Nice-to-have: Familiarity or experience with AI-assisted tools to improve design productivity.
- Ability to work independently and drive tasks with minimal supervision; willingness to travel (~10%).
Education Requirements
B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
