Staff Digital Verification (Electrical) Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for verification and development of digital blocks in memory data buffer chips targeting DDR5/DDR6 and future architectures. The role ensures functional correctness and performance for components used in AI and cloud data center applications.

Works within the memory interface products team to define verification strategy, build reusable UVM-based environments, and validate design behavior at block and system levels.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Typical experience guidance: 6+ years with a Master’s degree or 8+ years with a Bachelor’s degree (see Education Requirements for details).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Define verification strategy and develop verification plans for memory interface products.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain reusable UVM-based verification environments and testbenches.
• Implement and quality-control verification tests, coverage metrics, and checkers.
• Integrate and test at both block and system level; validate functional and performance requirements.
• Collaborate with design engineers to improve testability and design behavior.
• Own verification environments for assigned blocks and act as an expert user for verification tools.
• Monitor verification coverage and provide regular status updates to management.
• Participate in feasibility studies for next-generation products.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

• Proven experience verifying DDR6 or advanced DDR Data Buffer designs to meet functional and performance specifications.
• Strong UVM methodology experience and ability to create robust, reusable verification components.
• Experience with both block-level and system-level integration and testing.
• Ability to optimize verification environments for reusability, performance, and ease of use.
• Coverage-driven verification experience and ability to report and drive coverage closure.
• Ownership mentality: maintain environments, tools, and test infrastructure for assigned blocks.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with high-bandwidth memory interfaces used in AI and cloud data centers.
• Experience participating in feasibility studies for next-generation memory products.

Education Requirements

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent field with 6+ years of relevant experience; OR Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent field with 8+ years of relevant experience. Equivalent practical experience may be acceptable.
