Staff Digital IC Design Engineer
Role Summary
As a Staff Digital IC Design Engineer on the Optical Control ICs team, you will define micro-architectures and deliver block‑ and chip‑level digital implementations and verification for mixed‑signal SoCs used in AI datacenters. You will work closely with analog, mixed‑signal and system engineers to translate system and algorithm requirements into robust digital designs.
Work focuses on RTL design, digital signal processing blocks, architectural definition, verification, and digital/mixed‑signal testbench development.
Experience Level
Senior; typically requires 3+ years of hands‑on experience in digital design for complex SoC designs.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform block‑level and chip‑level RTL design and implementation.
- Design digital signal‑processing blocks from algorithm and system requirements.
- Define digital architectures to meet product specifications.
- Participate in block‑ and chip‑level verification activities.
- Contribute to digital and mixed‑signal testbench development at block and system level.
- Collaborate with analog, mixed‑signal and system teams for integration and delivery.
- Support engineering activities that may require up to 10% travel.
Requirements
Must‑have and preferred qualifications:
- Must‑have: Solid knowledge of digital logic design and implementation; familiarity with digital verification methodologies and tools; strong problem‑solving skills; ability to work effectively in a team; good spoken and written English.
- Nice‑to‑have: Experience or awareness of AI‑assisted design tools; proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Tcl or C Shell; exposure to mixed‑signal design and verification; self‑motivation and results‑oriented mindset.
Education Requirements
M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Microelectronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (as stated in the posting).
