Role Summary
This role involves participating in feasibility studies, designing and integrating digital sub-blocks, and verifying chip-level implementations in a collaborative environment.
Experience Level
Mid-level, requiring 4–6 years of experience in digital circuit design.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities include:
- Conducting feasibility studies and defining sub-block/chip-level architectures.
- Designing and integrating digital sub-blocks for chip-level implementation.
- Planning verification and performing block/top level direct testing.
- Supporting DFT strategy and implementation.
- Collaborating with back-end designers to accurately implement digital designs.
- Executing setup and checks for LINT, CDC, RDC, STA, and LEC.
- Participating in lab evaluations and debugging of digital blocks and full chip functions.
- Assisting in production testing, hardware/software development, and device characterization.
- Preparing tape-out databases and documentation.
- Conducting IC design reviews, consultations, and risk assessments.
- Participating in project meetings, training courses, and conferences.
- Demonstrating a capacity to learn new tool features and procedures.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related fields.
- A full understanding of digital design flow and electrical properties.
- Proficiency in HDL simulators, synthesis tools, and scripting languages (TCL, Bash, etc.).
- Good written, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Intermediate level of English.
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of IC design flow, PnR, DFT.
- Experience with verification methodologies (e.g., UVM, ABV).
- Familiarity with FPGA and communication interfaces (UART, I2C, SPI, JTAG, AMBA).
- Experience using tools like Verdi, Spyglass, Xcelium, PrimeTime, Design Compiler.
- Skills in programming/scripting languages (Perl, MATLAB, Skill, Python, C/C++).
Education Requirements
Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related disciplines is required.
