Role Summary

The Staff Digital Design Engineer will lead complex digital design projects, define system-level architectures, and provide technical leadership across multiple domains. The role involves guiding methodology improvements, influencing product roadmaps, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers.

This position focuses on delivering high-quality digital designs and technical direction for a small team or multiple project streams.

Experience Level

Senior — preferred 8–12 years of relevant experience in digital design engineering.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical leadership, architecture definition, and cross-functional delivery.

• Define and develop system-level architectures for complex digital designs.
• Lead technical teams on complex digital design projects and coordinate design delivery.
• Drive methodology improvements and establish best practices for digital design.
• Influence product direction and contribute to technical roadmaps.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (silicon, firmware, test, software, product) to deliver solutions.
• Engage with customers to translate technical requirements into implementable solutions.
• Mentor engineers and support development of technical talent.
• Travel as required (approx. 10%).

Requirements

• Expertise in defining and implementing complex digital system architectures.
• Proven technical leadership and ability to direct engineering teams.
• Deep, multi-domain knowledge relevant to digital design (e.g., RTL design, verification approaches, system integration).
• Authority in digital design methodologies and ability to drive process improvements.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder communication skills.
• Experience engaging with customers and translating requirements into technical solutions.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience leading small technical teams or project leads on multiple concurrent projects.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. The posting also indicates a preference for 8–12 years of relevant digital design engineering experience.
