Staff DFx Methodology Architect
Role Summary
Responsible for DFx architecture, RTL implementation and methodology development for FPGA-SoCs and custom ASICs within AMD's AECG organization. Lead definition and delivery of DFx-IP features, timing and verification strategy, and cross-functional integration from design through silicon bring-up.
This senior engineering role combines hands-on RTL work with leadership, documentation and collaboration across design, verification, validation, CAD and product teams.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Posting describes significant prior success driving architecture, RTL, timing and tape-out; no specific years of experience stated.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include DFx architecture ownership, RTL implementation, timing and cross-functional coordination.
- Define and lead SoC DFx architecture, specifications and DFx-IP development.
- Produce and maintain DFx architecture documentation, including hardware and firmware interactions.
- Implement DFx features in RTL using Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Co-own timing objectives, design quality checks and waiver processes for DFx-IP.
- Collaborate with execution and verification teams to enable integration and validation across implementation flow.
- Work with design teams on verification test plans, timing targets and performance/power sign-offs.
- Engage with validation and product teams for test planning, silicon bring-up and debug.
- Contribute to front-end, DFx and timing methodology improvements.
- Drive technical innovation and mentor team members.
