Job Title

Staff DFT Solutions Engineer – Chip Methodology & Automation (CMA)

Role Summary

Lead development and deployment of DFT (Design for Test) methodologies, flows, and automation for Arm-based SoCs within the Chip Methodology & Automation (CMA) team. Work across architecture, implementation, CAD, product engineering, customers, and EDA partners to integrate DFT into RTL-to-GDS flows and enable scalable, reusable solutions.

Experience Level

Senior / Staff level. The posting indicates a senior technical leadership role; specific years of experience are not listed.

Responsibilities

Own DFT methodology and flow solutions and drive their adoption across teams and partners.

  • Define, develop, and maintain DFT methodologies, flows, automation, and reference solutions for Arm-based SoCs.
  • Integrate DFT into end-to-end RTL-to-GDS implementation and silicon enablement flows.
  • Collaborate with architects, implementation teams, CAD, product engineering, customers, and EDA/technology partners.
  • Evaluate and enable new EDA capabilities and technology partner solutions.
  • Lead technical reviews, resolve complex integration challenges, and drive continuous methodology improvements.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to the DFT and automation roadmap within CMA.

Requirements

Key must-have technical skills and practical experience for successful performance in this role.

Must-have

  • Proven industry experience in DFT implementation, methodology development, and flow integration for complex SoCs.
  • Deep knowledge of scan methodologies, compression, ATPG, MBIST/LBIST, JTAG/IEEE 1149.x, IEEE 1687, and hierarchical DFT approaches.
  • Experience integrating DFT into implementation, verification, and signoff flows and working with industry-standard DFT EDA tools.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Tcl, Shell, or similar) and excellent debugging and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Proven ability to influence technical direction across cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with advanced-node SoC development, chiplet/multi-die architectures, CAD/methodology infrastructure, or automotive/safety/production-test requirements.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
