Job Title

Staff Design Verification Engineer, UAL and PCIe Subsystems

Role Summary

Member of the Design Verification Team responsible for functional verification of UAL and PCIe subsystems in multi-core SoCs. Verify high-speed data-path and control logic to ensure designs meet customer and industry requirements.

Work with architects, designers, and firmware/software teams to develop verification environments, reference models, and automation to validate complex subsystems.

Experience Level

Senior — staff-level role. Posting specifies 5+ years of verification and firmware/software development experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include designing and executing verification strategies and tools for UAL and PCIe subsystems.

  • Develop architecture for functional verification environments, including reference models, bus-functional monitors, and drivers.
  • Create verification test plans using directed and random techniques and coverage analysis.
  • Develop tests, tune environments to meet coverage goals, and debug failures with designers.
  • Verify boot code and develop/maintain tools to streamline SoC-level verification and parallel compute workflows.
  • Transform engineering requirements into scalable, user-friendly verification tools.
  • Perform unit and regression testing of verification software and automation.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required for the role.

  • Proven experience building sophisticated directed and random verification environments and writing detailed test plans.
  • Proficiency with SystemVerilog and UVM.
  • Experience with EDA verification tools and coverage-driven verification methodologies.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Perl for test and tool development.
  • Object-oriented design and implementation experience.
  • Good understanding of Linux operating systems.
  • Strong debugging skills and ability to work with designers to resolve issues.
  • Ability to work independently, handle assignments with minimal supervision, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-have

  • Programming skills in C++ and ARM assembly.
  • Understanding of networking protocols.

Education Requirements

BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science with 5+ years of verification and firmware/software development experience; or MS/PhD with 5+ years experience. (Education and years-of-experience specified in the posting.)
