Job Title

Staff Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Senior verification engineer responsible for driving verification of DDR interfaces and advanced memory protocols (DFI, DDR5, LPDDR5/LPDDR6) for server DIMMs. The role sits on the server memory verification team and requires close collaboration with design, firmware, BIOS, software, and post-silicon teams.

Work includes planning and executing verification strategies, debugging system interactions, and mentoring other engineers to raise team capability.

Experience Level

Senior (Staff-level). Specific years of experience not stated; position expects advanced domain expertise and leadership in verification.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include driving verification efforts across memory interfaces and enabling cross-functional alignment.

  • Develop and execute verification plans for DDR5, LPDDR5, and DFI memory systems across DIMMs in server products.
  • Validate PHY/system interactions including silicon (HW), firmware, BIOS and software to ensure feature enablement and correct operation.
  • Analyze RTL and micro-architecture to support planning, debugging, and cross-functional design reviews with IP and design teams.
  • Support post-silicon teams on product performance, power, and functional issue resolution.
  • Share knowledge, mentor engineers, and contribute to verification methodology improvements.

Requirements

Must-have skills and technologies are listed first, followed by preferred (nice-to-have) experience.

Must-have:

  • Advanced SystemVerilog and UVM experience for testbench development and simulation.
  • Proficiency with C/C++ and scripting languages (Python or Perl).
  • Deep familiarity with DDR interfaces and protocols (DDR5, LPDDR5/LPDDR6, DFI) and DIMM-based memory systems.
  • Strong skills in SystemVerilog assertions, constraints, and functional coverage.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software teams and to engage in cross-functional debug.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience building VIPs and BFMs for memory interfaces from scratch.
  • Experience with GLS, NLP, XPROP simulators or similar signoff/advanced simulation tools.
  • Practical experience with formal verification methods and associated tools beyond basic applications.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related discipline (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science) is stated.
