Works closely with architects, RTL designers, physical design, firmware, post-silicon validation, and software teams to deliver first-time-right silicon.
Experience Level
Senior — 10+ years of hands-on design verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include creating verification plans, implementing tests, and resolving complex issues across simulation, emulation, and silicon phases.
- Define and implement verification strategies, tests, and coverage plans based on micro-architecture.
- Develop reusable verification methodologies, testbench components, stimulus, checkers, assertions, and coverage metrics.
- Implement tests, run regressions, collect coverage, and debug failures across simulation and emulation flows.
- Analyze and debug complex issues during simulation, emulation, and silicon bring-up.
- Collaborate with architecture, RTL, physical design, firmware, and validation teams to ensure design quality.
- Improve verification infrastructure and automation to increase efficiency and quality.
- Contribute to organization-wide verification methodology and best practices.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience. Nice-to-have items are listed separately.
- 10+ years of design verification experience with complex SoC or accelerator designs.
- Deep knowledge of SystemVerilog testbenches, DPI, and UVM.
- Strong software engineering and programming skills, including object-oriented design.
- Experience developing scalable, portable testbenches and verification components.
- Familiarity with verification tools and flows: simulators, waveform viewers, automation/build systems, coverage collection, and gate-level simulation.
- Proficient in scripting (Python, Perl, or similar) for testbench automation and data analysis.
- Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose cross-domain issues.
- Good interpersonal and collaboration skills; self-motivated and proactive.
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of pipelined processor architecture.
