Staff Design Readiness Engineer

Role Summary

Prepare new DRAM designs for high-volume manufacturing by driving pre-silicon readiness, validation planning, and cross-functional coordination. The role sits within DRAM Engineering and focuses on ensuring designs are ready for validation, debug, and ramp.

The engineer partners with design, verification, validation, product architecture, system compatibility, and silicon strategy teams to reduce risk, shorten learning cycles, and improve product quality.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include preparing designs for production and coordinating validation and debug activities.

  • Lead pre-silicon design readiness and DFMEA activities to prepare designs for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Plan validation and debug with Component Validation teams and track silicon findings to meet project timelines.
  • Collaborate closely with Design, Verification, Product Architecture, System Compatibility, and Silicon Strategy teams.
  • Identify and resolve gaps in validation and production coverage to improve design robustness and quality.
  • Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement of design readiness methods.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience required for success in this role.

  • Experience in semiconductor design, validation, or product engineering (DRAM experience preferred).
  • Working knowledge of electronic design fundamentals and device schematics.
  • Proven ability to lead technical discussions across multi-functional teams and influence outcomes.
  • Experience planning validation and debugging activities to meet project timelines.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience supporting new product introductions from pre-silicon through ramp.
  • Understanding of DRAM design and operation.
  • Experience with signal integrity analysis and system-level behavior.
  • Ability to define screens or test mitigations to improve product quality.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. The posting explicitly allows equivalent practical experience in lieu of a degree.
