Job Title
Staff Design Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Solution Engineering division to design SoC debug subsystems, primarily based on CoreSight IP. The role covers specification, RTL design, and verification support to deliver production-quality subsystems.
The team develops SoCs across application segments using Arm and third-party IP.
Experience Level
Senior β more than 10 years' experience in SoC or complex subsystem design.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include micro-architecture, RTL implementation, verification collaboration, and implementing low-power and area-efficient solutions.
- Define and document micro-architecture and block specifications.
- Develop RTL (SystemVerilog/Verilog) implementations for debug and trace subsystems.
- Perform design checks and reviews to ensure correctness and quality.
- Work closely with verification to assess test coverage, review verification plans, and debug design defects.
- Apply low-power and high-speed design techniques and optimize for area efficiency.
- Identify and resolve power, clock-domain crossing, and reset-domain crossing issues.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 10+ years' experience designing complex subsystems or SoCs.
- Experience with ARM-based designs and ARM system architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Arm CoreSight IP and debug/trace architectures.
- Advanced proficiency in SystemVerilog and Verilog.
- Experience with power management, CDC (clock-domain crossing), and reset-domain crossing.
- Experience with scripting (Perl, Python, or similar).
Nice-to-have:
- Exposure to low-power methodologies (UPF/CPF).
- Experience with DFT concepts such as scan, MBIST, SSN.
- Experience coordinating with physical design for floor-planning, clocking, and timing closure.
- Leadership, mentoring, or coaching experience.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
