Staff Data Scientist
Role Summary
Micron seeks a Staff Data Scientist to apply data science and machine-learning techniques to semiconductor manufacturing yield and process optimization at Fab 10A in Singapore.
The role partners with process, integration, and equipment engineers to analyze manufacturing, probe, and sensor data, automate data pipelines, and deliver models and dashboards that reduce defects and improve yield.
Experience Level
Senior β minimum 5 years of experience in data science, analytics, or scripting applications.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Analyze inline, parametric, and probe data to identify yield detractors and drive continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain data pipelines: extract, cleanse, and integrate data from SQL databases, sensors, and tool logs.
- Develop statistical models and machine-learning solutions for yield improvement and defect reduction.
- Support Design of Experiments (DOE) and analyze experiment results to improve process capability and margins.
- Create automated reports and dashboards (e.g., Dash, Plotly, Angular) to communicate insights to engineering stakeholders.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in data science, analytics, or scripting.
- Strong Python programming skills and practical experience with SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Experience with statistical analysis and manufacturing methodologies such as SPC, DOE, or FDC/EDA.
- Minimum ~3 years applying data visualization tools (e.g., Dash, Plotly, Angular) to present engineering data.
- Willingness to learn semiconductor manufacturing principles and collaborate with equipment and integration engineers.
- Effective communicator, able to translate technical analyses to engineering teams; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- Prior experience or internship in semiconductor manufacturing or electronics production.
- Basic understanding of semiconductor fabrication, equipment, device physics (e.g., CMOS), or memory architecture (DRAM/NAND).
- Familiarity with advanced analytics for manufacturing and yield applications.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, AI, or a related Engineering field (degree explicitly listed in the posting).
