Job Title

Staff Burn-in HW & SW Engineer

Role Summary

Join the product reliability team responsible for HTOL and Burn‑in testing for datacenter CPUs and GPUs. The role owns end-to-end hardware and software solutions for Burn‑In Boards (BIBs) and stress/test programs to characterize silicon reliability and meet product and customer requirements.

Experience Level

Senior-level (Staff). Years of experience not specified.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing BIB hardware, developing stress programs, validating boards, and analyzing burn‑in data.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally from early product development to define and design High‑Power Burn‑In Boards for CPUs and GPUs.
  • Interface with PCB fabricators and socket manufacturers to guide board development and first-article validation.
  • Define HTOL/BI test pattern requirements and implement DFT patterns with design validation and product engineering teams.
  • Develop, integrate, debug, and maintain reliability test code and stress programs on MCC C‑Breez and other platforms.
  • Lead hardware validation and debug hardware and plug‑and‑play software issues for first‑article boards.
  • Coordinate with offshore factories and reliability labs during hardware and test program bring‑up.
  • Create data‑logging scripts and analyze pre/post burn‑in results to optimize test programs and qualification metrics.
  • Support ESD and latch‑up stress program and hardware development.

Requirements

Essential technical skills, tools, and constraints for the role.

  • Must-have: Hands-on experience developing HTOL/Burn‑In test programs and integrating test patterns on production platforms.
  • Must-have: Practical experience with PCB/BIB schematic and layout concepts and working with board/socket vendors.
  • Must-have: Programming and scripting experience (Python, C++, SQL, or similar) for test and data‑logging automation.
  • Must-have: Experience debugging hardware using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and relevant lab instrumentation.
  • Must-have: Strong communication skills and experience presenting test data and qualification results.
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of processor architecture, vector timing, vector translation, and pattern architecture.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with DOE modeling, device degradation models for guardbands, or product reliability engineering exposure.
  • This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
