Role Summary
Senior engineering role focused on analog and mixed-signal physical layout and layout methodology. The position owns layout design practices, develops or refines methodology and automation, and collaborates with circuit designers, PDK teams, and CAD/DFT groups to ensure manufacturable tapeouts.
Works within a hardware engineering or layout design team to improve productivity, ensure design rule compliance, and support physical verification and tapeout activities.

Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities for this role include:
- Perform and review analog/mixed-signal physical layout for complex blocks and IP.
- Develop and maintain layout methodology, design guidelines, and best practices.
- Create or refine layout automation and scripts to improve productivity and consistency.
- Collaborate with circuit designers, PDK, foundry, and EDA/CAD teams to resolve DRC/LVS and manufacturability issues.
- Support tapeout activities, physical verification flows, and design-for-manufacturing sign-off.
- Mentor junior layout engineers and contribute to process and tool improvements.
Requirements
Key qualifications and skills expected (must-have vs nice-to-have when applicable):

Must-have: Demonstrated experience in analog/mixed-signal layout design and review; familiarity with physical verification issues (DRC/LVS) and manufacturability concerns.

Must-have: Experience with common layout tools and environments (e.g., Cadence Virtuoso workflows) and with PDK interactions.

Must-have: Ability to develop or use scripting/automation (e.g., SKILL, Python) to improve layout methodology.

Nice-to-have: Experience developing layout methodology, verification flows, or CAD/EDA integration; prior tapeout leadership experience.
