Job Title

Staff Analog & Mixed-Signal Design Engineer - Power/ATE

Role Summary

Join the Instrumentation business unit to design high-performance mixed-signal integrated circuits for Automatic Test Equipment (ATE). The role covers architecture, design, simulation, characterization, and release-to-production of power-delivery and measurement ICs used in production testing of advanced semiconductors.

Position is based in Colorado Springs, CO (preferred) with Wilmington, MA as an alternative location. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with digital design, verification, product, applications, and test engineering teams.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires significant experience; posting specifies 7+ years of CMOS IC design experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include leading complex mixed-signal IC projects from concept to production and supporting integration and lab debug.

  • Lead architectural definition and end-to-end design of complex mixed-signal ICs.
  • Optimize designs for power, performance, area and ensure quality and manufacturability.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Collaborate with digital design and verification teams for block and system-level integration and chip verification.
  • Coordinate requirements and product transitions with product, applications, and test engineering.
  • Manage layout and post-layout simulations; oversee tapeout and production release activities.
  • Assess and resolve complex circuit issues during laboratory characterization and bring-up.
  • Travel as required for team or customer support (approx. 10%).

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience, plus preferred skills.

Must-have:

  • 7+ years of CMOS IC design experience, with hands-on analog/mixed-signal circuit design.
  • Familiarity with high-gain/low-noise amplifiers, comparators, integrators, voltage references, LDOs, ADCs and DACs.
  • Experience with switching regulator circuit concepts and power-delivery design.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Experience managing layout and performing post-layout simulations and signoff checks.

Nice-to-have / Preferred:

  • Precision analog design experience and background in switching regulator design.
  • Experience with BiCMOS analog design.
  • Proficiency with Cadence schematic capture and SPICE simulation.
  • Modeling skills using MATLAB or similar tools and analog/digital behavioral modeling expertise.
  • Team and project leadership experience.

Education Requirements

M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (specified). The posting explicitly requests graduate-level degree(s) in Electrical Engineering; no equivalent-degree language was provided.
