Job Title
Staff Analog Layout Engineer
Role Summary
The Staff Analog Layout Engineer will perform block-to-top-level physical layout and integration for high‑precision analog/mixed‑signal products at the Taiwan Zhubei site. This role owns floorplanning, package implementation, top‑level integration and physical signoff to enable tape‑out.
The engineer will work within the analog layout team, manage schedules and resources, and mentor junior layout engineers.
Experience Level
Senior — staff-level role; requires 5+ years of experience in analog/mixed‑signal layout or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Perform block and top‑level layout including floorplanning, package implementation and top‑level integration for high‑precision analog products.
- Execute physical verification and signoff tasks (DRC, LVS, Antenna checks and related verifications) to support tape‑out.
- Apply physical layout techniques (matching, parasitic management, layout dependent effects, ESD and latch‑up mitigation) to meet circuit performance and reliability targets.
- Manage layout schedules and resource allocation across projects.
- Guide and mentor junior layout engineers; collaborate with cross‑site engineering teams as needed.
Requirements
Must‑have technical skills and experience:
- 5+ years of experience in analog/mixed‑signal layout (block and chip‑level).
- Experience with top‑down physical design techniques: full‑chip/block layout, place & route coordination, floorplanning, power/clock optimization, noise isolation, DFM‑aware layouts, and physical verification flows.
- Understanding of device structures and circuit blocks common to precision analog design (DAC, ADC, LDO, bandgap, amplifiers), with emphasis on high‑precision requirements.
- Solid knowledge of foundry process issues, device matching, layout‑dependent effects, shielding, EM/IR analysis, ESD/latch‑up and device isolation strategies.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
Preferred:
- Extensive experience with top‑level layout and tape‑out flows.
- Familiarity with IC package design and package‑to‑die integration.
- Experience working with global or cross‑site teams; strong teamwork and communication.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related EE major preferred; equivalent degree or equivalent practical experience is acceptable. (The posting explicitly permits equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.)
