Role Summary

The Staff Analog Design Engineer at Synopsys is responsible for designing and developing innovative semiconductor solutions, particularly in the domain of high-speed analog and mixed-signal products. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance product performance and address engineering challenges.

Experience Level

Mid-level with a minimum of 4 years of experience for MTech/MS or 5 years for BTech/BS holders.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing SerDes standards to create transceiver architectures and specifications.
• Investigating circuit solutions to rectify performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborating with design teams for improved efficiency in design and verification.
• Overseeing physical layout to minimize design issues that affect silicon performance.
• Presenting simulation data to teams and external stakeholders.
• Documenting design features, test plans, and consulting on post-silicon analysis.
• Analyzing customer silicon data for potential improvements.

Requirements

The following qualifications are required:

• MTech/MS with 4+ years or BTech/BS with 5+ years of analog IC design experience in Electrical or related field.
• Proven expertise with FinFET technologies and CMOS tape-outs.
• Deep understanding of Multi-Gbps designs and SERDES architectures.
• Extensive design experience with SERDES sub-circuits.
• Skilled in analog/digital co-design and optimization techniques.
• Proficient with design verification tools and SPICE simulations.
• Experience with scripting languages such as TCL, PERL, or MATLAB.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Education Requirements

MTech/MS or BTech/BS in Electrical Engineering or related fields is expected.
