Job Title
Staff Analog Design Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Zürich analog design team to develop next-generation mixed-signal ICs for wireless power and power management (PMIC) applications. The role owns major analog IP blocks from architecture through silicon production and collaborates with digital, firmware, test, and system teams.
This position focuses on transistor-level design, simulation, layout guidance, silicon bring-up, and ensuring manufacturable, robust designs.
Experience Level
Senior — requires advanced industry experience (see Education Requirements for degree/experience guidance).
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities include owning analog IP development, ensuring design robustness, and supporting validation and production readiness.
- Lead definition, design, and ownership of complex analog and mixed-signal IP (PMIC building blocks, wireless-power analog IPs, ADC/DAC interfaces, analog front-ends).
- Contribute to system-level and architecture definition with digital, firmware, and system teams.
- Perform transistor-level design, simulation, and optimization, including PVT/corner analysis, Monte Carlo, and reliability assessments.
- Ensure robustness and manufacturability across process, voltage, and temperature variations.
- Support and guide layout: floorplanning, matching, shielding, parasitic-aware design, post-layout simulation and sign-off.
- Participate in silicon bring-up, validation, debug, characterization, and lab measurements.
- Work with test, product, and quality teams to support test and qualification phases for high-volume products.
- Drive design reviews, technical documentation, cross-team alignment, and promote best practices within the analog team.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience; preferred items listed where applicable.
- Extensive transistor-level CMOS analog design experience.
- Strong understanding of analog fundamentals: noise, stability, matching, and reliability.
- Proven record of taking designs from specification through mass production (ownership and delivery).
- Familiarity with mixed-signal integration and interactions with digital blocks.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with the Cadence design environment.
- Hands-on experience with silicon validation, lab measurements, and debug (preferred).
- Knowledge of test and qualification requirements for high-volume products (preferred).
- PMIC experience, wireless-power, and low-power/high-efficiency analog techniques are strong pluses (preferred).
Education Requirements
PhD in a relevant field with 5+ years industry experience, or MSc with 8+ years industry experience in analog/mixed-signal IC design. Fields referenced include analog/mixed-signal IC design and related technical disciplines. (No alternative equivalent-experience language provided.)
