Job Title
Staff Analog Design Engineer
Role Summary
Join Qorvo's Power Management division to lead architecture, transistor-level design, and validation of high-performance analog power management ICs. The role works with cross-functional global teams to deliver efficient, reliable power-management products.
Experience Level
Senior β 8+ years of engineering experience; at least 6 years in analog and mixed-signal IC design, specifically with DC-DC converter architectures and control methodologies.
Responsibilities
The engineer will own analog power IC design from architecture through silicon validation and production release.
- Lead design and development of high-performance analog power management ICs focused on efficiency, power density, and reliability.
- Define product architecture and specifications with system engineers, balancing performance, power, and cost.
- Select and implement circuit topologies optimized for robustness, yield, and manufacturability.
- Perform transistor-level design, simulation, and validation to meet performance specifications.
- Collaborate with layout engineers to optimize floorplanning, parasitics, and silicon performance.
- Coordinate with global design teams and manufacturing partners to align development and execution.
- Partner with test and characterization teams to define validation methods, debug issues, and optimize production tests.
- Prepare and present technical reviews, documentation, and trade-off analyses to stakeholders.
Requirements
Key required and preferred technical qualifications.
Must-have:
- 8+ years of engineering experience in the semiconductor industry.
- 6+ years of analog and mixed-signal IC design experience, including DC-DC converter architectures and control methods (voltage-mode and current-mode).
- Experience with EDA flows and tools related to EMIR, capacitive coupling, parasitic extraction, and floating-node analysis.
- Experience with production release of power management ICs and supporting silicon bring-up.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice-to-have:
- Hands-on lab experience with high-frequency switching power supplies.
- Familiarity with Cadence Virtuoso, Simplis, and ADS.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Preferred: Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering. Equivalent practical experience may be accepted in lieu of formal degrees.
