Staff AI Engineer

Role Summary

Senior software engineer on the GenAI Platform team responsible for designing and delivering scalable, production-quality platform services and SDKs that enable AI-powered workflows across the product development lifecycle.

The role focuses on cloud-native, Kubernetes-based distributed systems, performance-sensitive components, and tooling that integrates GPUs, inference serving, and CI/CD for semiconductor engineering workflows.

Experience Level

Senior — minimum five years of professional software development experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include building platform primitives, ensuring reliability and scalability, and enabling other teams to consume AI capabilities.

• Develop and operate scalable, distributed systems running on Kubernetes and cloud platforms.
• Design and implement unit, integration, system, and end-to-end tests for platform primitives, frameworks, and SDKs.
• Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions emphasizing quality, reliability, and edge-case handling.
• Ensure platform services meet enterprise standards for scalability, security, observability, and reliability.
• Prototype solutions, validate designs via demos, and deliver production-ready systems.
• Develop and maintain reusable QA agent skills, automation tools, and CI/CD integrations.

Requirements

Required and preferred technical skills and experience.

• Minimum five years of software development experience with production delivery responsibilities.
• Strong development experience in Go (highly preferred) and Python.
• Deep understanding of distributed computing, system design trade-offs, and the CAP theorem.
• Proven experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with Generative AI concepts, GPU-enabled workflows, model inference serving, and LLM gateways (preferred).
• Familiarity with CI/CD and modern delivery tooling (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Harness.io, GitLab CI, etc.).
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, leadership, and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Linux Foundation certifications such as CKAD, CKS, and/or CKA are highly preferred.
