Role Summary

Join Broadcom's ASIC Products Division (APD) in Fort Collins to lead static timing analysis and timing closure for high-performance, power-efficient ASICs. The role coordinates with logic and physical design teams to analyze timing, implement ECOs for tapeout, and build timing flows and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include technical timing analysis, coordination with design teams, and maintaining timing methodologies.

  • Work with design teams to debug constraints and facilitate logic changes to improve timing.
  • Coordinate with Physical Design and Logic Design teams to identify and resolve timing issues.
  • Create and implement timing ECOs for project tapeout.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and methodologies for timing analysis and runs.
  • Document timing guidelines, specifications, and best practices.
  • Perform deep analysis of timing paths to identify and prioritize root causes.
  • Implement and maintain timing infrastructure and flows.
  • Communicate issues clearly and follow them through to resolution.

Requirements

Technical must-haves and preferred skills for this role.

  • Hands-on STA experience with large, high-performance SoC designs in sub-micron technologies.
  • Proficiency in STA and timing-closure standards and flows; skilled with industry-standard timing tools.
  • Deep understanding of noise, crosstalk, OCV effects, and timing margin fundamentals from synthesis to sign-off.
  • Familiarity with circuit modeling (including SPICE models) and worst-case corner selection.
  • Strong scripting/programming skills, particularly Perl and TCL.
  • Experience with Multi-Scenario Timing Closure and ECO techniques is highly beneficial.

Education Requirements

MSEE (Master of Science in Electrical Engineering) or equivalent is required. The posting also specifies 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
