Sr. Test Engineer

Role Summary

The Sr. Test Engineer contributes to electrical- and platform-level validation of server platforms. The role works with cross-functional teams to develop and execute test plans, verify functionality and electrical specifications, and ensure production readiness.

Primary activities include system-level test execution, software-stack and use-case testing, debugging and root-cause analysis, and collaborating on test automation and reporting.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include planning and executing validation activities and collaborating across engineering teams.

  • Develop and execute electrical and platform-level test plans for server platforms.
  • Verify product functionality, electrical specifications, and production requirements.
  • Perform software-stack and use-case testing on Linux and Windows environments.
  • Debug systems, perform root-cause analysis, and resolve hardware/software issues.
  • Interact with architecture, design, platform, firmware, and system engineering teams.
  • Create test specifications, requirements, strategies, and methodologies.
  • Track, summarize, and report test results; contribute to automation of validation tasks.

Requirements

Required technical skills and experience. Experience may be demonstrated via coursework, internships, research, or work.

  • Hardware and software verification experience.
  • Familiarity with product development lifecycles.
  • Strong experience with Unix/Linux environments.
  • Scripting skills: Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of GPU, SoC, or CPU architecture.
  • Understanding of Linux and Windows internals.
  • Experience with server systems.
  • Software debugging on macOS, Linux, or Unix.
  • Version control experience using Git.

Education Requirements

Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in those fields plus two years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the role or a closely related engineering role is acceptable. The posting allows equivalent experience gained via coursework, research, internships, or work.
