Sr. Technical Staff
Role Summary
Perform post-silicon validation and bring-up for Cerebras Wafer Scale Engines. The role focuses on testing and debugging new silicon, developing automation and debug tools, and supporting wafer bring-up and manufacturing operations.
Collaborate with hardware design, system software, silicon, and operations teams to ensure reliable system performance and manufacturability.
Experience Level
Senior — requires at least 3 years of relevant engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include:
- Perform post-silicon validation: test, analyze, and debug issues on new Wafer Scale Engine silicon.
- Characterize high-speed serial interfaces for compliance with hardware specifications and record performance data.
- Lead wafer bring-up, burn-in, and diagnostic activities in coordination with silicon and operations teams.
- Support manufacturing operations by applying the wafer bring-up flow and troubleshooting production issues.
- Develop hardware and firmware-level debug tools and automation to accelerate validation and bring-up.
- Create and maintain automated regression test scripts and bring-up flows using Python and shell scripting.
- Collaborate with hardware and system software engineers to review specs and recommend design or test changes to improve verifiability and quality.
- Document issues, tools, and operational flows.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in roles such as Application Engineer, Sr. Technical Staff, Hardware Engineer, or similar.
- Electrical signal integrity analysis and functional/electrical characterization experience.
- Hands-on hardware bring-up and system debug, including diagnosing interactions with FPGAs, power, and cooling.
- Experience developing test automation and debug tools using scripting languages (Python, Bash).
- Familiarity with high-speed interfaces and protocols (examples: Ethernet, CPRI, Interlaken).
- Ability to develop and maintain regression tests and wafer bring-up flows for production and validation environments.
Education Requirements
Master's degree (M.S.) or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
