Sr. Technical Program Manager

Role Summary

Lead multi-discipline engineering teams to deliver next-generation AMD data-center system solutions from concept and proof-of-concept through development to customer ship. The role coordinates electrical, firmware, thermal and mechanical engineering, vendor partners and cross-functional internal teams to execute system-level products.

Experience Level

Senior-level. No specific years of experience are stated; the role expects demonstrated success leading large-scale, cross-functional hardware and system programs.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning, coordination and delivery of system-level engineering programs.

  • Lead cross-functional teams (electrical, firmware, thermal, mechanical, software, manufacturing) from POC to product ship.
  • Manage electrical, thermal and mechanical pathfinding and system design proofs-of-concept.
  • Coordinate with vendors and supply chain for technical deliverables and vendor selection.
  • Develop and maintain program schedules, risk mitigation plans, and status reporting to stakeholders and executives.
  • Drive design issue identification and resolution impacting program deliverables.
  • Establish and share processes to improve program execution and organizational scalability.
  • Interface with customers and partners on joint-development projects and technical requirements.
  • Support limited domestic travel as required.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience for successful performance. Preferred items are noted separately.

  • Proven experience leading and delivering large-scale, cross-functional hardware and system programs on time and within budget.
  • Experience with hardware development lifecycle including foundry, OSAT, and platform-level architecture, design and execution.
  • Strong technical understanding of interactions among silicon, firmware/software and board-level elements.
  • Experience managing external vendors and coordinating with supply chain and manufacturing teams.
  • Strong communication, executive presentation and stakeholder-influence skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Teams or Confluence; familiarity with JAMA, JIRA or similar tools.
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry and with new product development / introduction.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.; this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with AI technologies and related software ecosystems (machine learning, NLP, computer vision).
  • Experience with Agile software and project development methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate risks, present tradeoffs and influence executive decision-making.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field required; advanced degree preferred. MBA or PMI PMP® certification is a plus.
