Sr Staff Test Engineer

Role Summary

Senior test development engineer responsible for developing and releasing production and characterization test programs for Marvell silicon using ATE systems. Work within the Operations organization and collaborate closely with design, product, and DFT/DFM teams to ensure chips meet customer specifications and production yield targets.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include test program development, test flow optimization, and cross-team coordination to qualify and release production test programs.

• Develop characterization, production, and wafer sort test programs on the Advantest 93K ATE platform.
• Design tester hardware and test setups for high-speed testing where required.
• Create and maintain detailed test plans, procedures, and documentation to meet product specifications.
• Convert test patterns from simulation/design environments to ATE format.
• Participate in testability reviews with DFT/DFM teams to improve yield and test methodology.
• Lead test flow optimization efforts: test time reduction, insertion/removal decisions, and yield improvement actions.
• Work with product and release engineers to validate and release production test programs.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional capabilities.

• Minimum 6+ years of test program development experience on the Advantest 93K ATE platform.
• Demonstrated ATE testing and test methodology expertise; familiarity with silicon process and DFT/DFM practices.
• 4+ years of high-speed digital testing experience.
• Proficiency with C/C++, Perl, Python, and Linux-based test environments.
• Experience in test pattern conversion and production/wafer sort test flow.
• Strong documentation, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Effective communication, teamwork, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; strong sense of urgency and accountability.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience designing tester hardware for high-speed signals and advanced test setups.
• Prior ownership of test time optimization and yield-improvement projects at production scale.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (posting indicates 5–10 years' experience typical). Compensation note: expected base pay range shown by employer: USD 118,820 - 178,000 per year. This role is eligible for bonus and equity programs.
