Sr Staff/Staff/Senior Engineer– IP Design Verification

Role Summary

As an IP Design Verification Engineer in the Verification R&D team at Renesas, you will be responsible for end-to-end verification of complex digital IPs and subsystems. Your primary goal will be to ensure first-pass silicon success by building verification environments from the ground up using best practices and AI tools.

Experience Level

Mid-level; 5-12 years of experience in SoC Verification domains is required.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Own end-to-end verification execution for complex digital IPs and subsystems from specification to sign-off.
  • Define and drive IP-level verification strategies, including test plans and coverage models.
  • Develop scalable, reusable UVM-based verification environments.
  • Lead functional, code, assertion, and cross-coverage closure.
  • Apply AI/ML techniques to improve coverage convergence.
  • Drive test methodologies for thorough verification.
  • Collaborate with other teams for seamless IP integration.
  • Review specifications and translate requirements into verification plans.
  • Develop advanced checkers, assertions, and monitors.
  • Evaluate and adopt next-generation verification tools.
  • Mentor junior engineers in verification practices.
  • Support Gate-Level Simulation and post-silicon debug as needed.

Requirements

The following qualifications are necessary for this role:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering.
  • 5-12 years of experience in SoC Verification.
  • Strong expertise in UVM-based testbench architecture.
  • Proficient in SystemVerilog, assertions (SVA), and verification best practices.
  • Experience with industry-standard protocols such as AMBA (AXI, AHB).
  • Solid debugging skills in simulation, emulation, and post-silicon environments.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering is required.
