Sr. Staff Layout Engineer

Role Summary

The Sr. Staff Layout Engineer will take technical leadership in floor planning and layout of complex mixed signal circuits and systems. This role involves guiding layout team members, improving layout practices, and leading layout projects from feasibility to tape out.

Experience Level

Senior level with typically 7-10 years of experience.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include:

• Leading floor planning for chip, block, and cell layouts in collaboration with design teams.
• Serving as the lead layout engineer on projects, ensuring quality and efficiency in layout reviews.
• Championing layout techniques that focus on matching accuracy, parasitic reduction, yield optimization, and ESD robustness.
• Overseeing routing and verification tasks for different layout levels.
• Mentoring and guiding less experienced layout engineers.

Requirements

Must-have skills and qualifications include:

• Expertise in CAD tools such as Virtuoso XL, Calibre DRC, LVS, PEX, VCAR, VSR, PVS, and R3D.
• Strong technical competence and decision-making abilities for layout methods.
• Experience in mentorship and team leadership.

Nice to have abilities include:

• Ability to deliver results on tight schedules.
• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively in teams.
