Sr Staff Layout Engineer

Role Summary

Perform analog IC physical implementation for power-management products (DC‑DC converters, controllers, drivers). Own floorplanning and layout from block level to full chip, ensuring matching, EM and reliability requirements are met.

Position based in Catania. Expected annual pay range: 2,000 63,000 83,000; eligible for a bonus.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 12 615 years of experience in analog layout design and related flows.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Floorplan and implement analog blocks and full-chip layouts (charge pumps, comparators, amplifiers, bandgaps, linear regulators).
• Design leaf cells and implement matching strategies for precision analog circuits.
• Address EM and reliability constraints in layout and ensure manufacturability.
• Drive layout activities independently to meet schedules and deliverables.
• Collaborate with design, layout and CAD/verification teams to resolve DRC/LVS/PEX issues and minimize rework.
• Follow methodology guidelines to ensure IP portability across designs and production readiness.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred technical qualifications:

• Must-have: 12 615 years' experience in analog layout design with demonstrated execution from block to full-chip layout and DRC/LVS flows.
• Must-have: Deep knowledge of floorplanning, leaf cell layout, analog matching techniques, and layout for EM/reliability.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with BCD or similar mixed-signal process technologies, packaging and production test considerations.
• Nice-to-have: Scripting skills for automation (Python, Perl, TCL).
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with IC CAD and verification tools (e.g., Virtuoso XL, Calibre DRC/LVS/PEX, PVS, R3D).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
