Role Summary
The role involves ownership and delivery of complex physical designs in SOC engineering, focusing on RTL2GDSII flows. The engineer will work within a team dedicated to innovative silicon design solutions.
Experience Level
Senior level with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in physical design for advanced technology nodes (7nm, 5nm, or 3nm).
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Driving full RTL2GDSII physical design implementation for advanced process nodes.
- Executing synthesis, place & route, clock tree synthesis (CTS), timing optimization, and static timing analysis (STA).
- Performing block-level and full-chip floor-planning, physical verification, EMIR analysis, and timing closure activities.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve design challenges.
- Utilizing and optimizing Synopsys EDA tools for silicon solutions.
- Developing automation scripts to improve design flow efficiency.
- Contributing to the improvement of design methodologies and mentoring junior engineers.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in physical design.
- Hands-on experience with RTL2GDSII flows.
- Proficiency with Synopsys EDA tools such as Design Compiler, IC Compiler II, and PrimeTime.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, PERL, TCL, or similar.
- Solid understanding of timing constraints and floor-planning techniques.
- Exposure to high-frequency and low-power design methodologies.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
